Weather and Climate on the Spanish Costas

Most visitors to Spain choose one of the beautiful Spanish Costas as a holiday destination, and it’s no wonder as the country, apart from its borders with France and Portugal, is surrounded by sea. Spain has many costas and each one offers visitors excellent holiday prospects and attractions, with each costa having unique features and varying climates. For many visitors and those with second homes in Spain, the weather plays a big part in their choice of destination and the country is fortunate to have one of the most pleasant climates in Europe. Most of Spain’s summer temperatures average in the 30’s Celsius with over 300 days of sunshine per year, making it an extremely popular choice for lovers of sun, sea and sand. The interior of the country can get equally as hot with the exception being the mountain regions where summer temperatures are cooler and rainfall more frequent.
